DME Alliance capabilities are ideally suited to support the design of food and beverage facilities that require hygienic manufacturing, bulk fluid/powder processing, clean-in-place, sanitization, risk/hazard analysis, contamination prevention and regulatory compliance. Company expertise with process engineering, hygienic piping and process utilities enables a plant design that is both flexible and efficient. This is a key requirement to remain competitive in a dynamic marketplace.
The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) was enacted on 04 January, 2011. This new legislation mandates a regulatory shift from responding to contamination to preventing it. It establishes a more proactive approach to food safety, and empowers the FDA to require a mandatory recall and/or suspend a food facility's registration if it believes that a food product has a reasonable probability of causing serious adverse health consequences or death to humans or animals. The law will require all food manufacturers to execute a hazard analysis, and to implement risk-based preventative controls and corrective measures as needed to ensure the U.S. food supply is safe.
